Electricity consumption per capita in Indonesia is considered one of the lowest among Asian countries, even still below Asian average. However, the government of Indonesia plans to increase the electricity rate from 78.2% to 99.4% in the next 10 years, that will require a lot of new power plants. The purposes of Indonesia's government to increase the electricity rate are to support the economic activities and to improve the Indonesia' living standard. Among other power plant types that are going to be built, Gas and hydropower plants are clean and renewable solution to overcome peak load.
